After-care Procedures

Neurotoxins (Botox & Dysport)
  • Avoid rubbing or massaging the injection site for at least 24 hours after the procedure, as this can cause the botox to spread to other areas and cause unwanted side effects.
  • Avoid exposing the injection site to extreme heat or cold, such as by using hot or cold packs, for at least 24 hours after the procedure.
  • Avoid engaging in strenuous physical activity, such as exercising or lifting heavy objects, for at least 24 hours after the procedure.
  • Avoid alcohol and other blood thinners, such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), for at least 24 hours after the procedure.
  • Avoid wearing tight clothing or headwear that may put pressure on the injection site for at least 24 hours after the procedure.
  • Avoid exposing the injection site to direct sunlight or UV light for at least 24 hours after the procedure, as this can cause the botox to break down and lose its effectiveness.
If you experience any unusual symptoms or side effects after the procedure, such as difficulty breathing or swallowing, muscle weakness, or changes in vision, contact your practitioner immediately.

It is also a good idea to follow up with your practitioner for a post-procedure evaluation to ensure that the botox is working properly, and to discuss any concerns or questions you may have.
